Division of Family Health
The Division of Family Health strives to preserve, protect and promote the health and development of all children, youth and their families with a goal of reducing and preventing diseases and disabilities.
The Division of Family Health:
- Develops and supports community-based programs and systems of care that address the health and development needs for all children and their families.
- Evaluates the health and development of children with a focus on policy development and planning.
- Invests in information, education, public engagement, and community partnership development with a focus on prevention.
- Involves parent concerns in all aspects of Family Health activities.
FAMILY HEALTH IN RHODE ISLAND 2005
Each year, the Division of Family Health is required to submit the Rhode Island plan for maternal and child health, called FAMILY HEALTH IN RHODE ISLAND, to the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau. Input from many parents, professionals, and others is critical. We hope you will take a few minutes to review this information on families and children, and then give us your advice on important needs, issues, and opportunities for family health in Rhode Island in the coming year.
