Background

The Rhode Island State Office of Rural Health (SORH) is located in the Rhode Island Department of Health’s Office of Primary Care, Division of Disease Prevention & Control. The Office was established in August 1993. The mission of the SORH is to promote continued improvement in the health status of residents in rural Rhode Island. The SORH shares the Department of Health’s vision that all people in Rhode Island will have the opportunity to live a safe and healthy life in a safe and healthy community.
