Oral Health Program

The goal of this web site is:

  • To provide a central site for oral health information in Rhode Island.
  • To provide direction to other sources of oral health information.

This web site is divided into seven major sections:

In Oral Health in America: A Report of the Surgeon General, former U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher has noted "…the mouth reflects general health and well-being." It is evident that poor oral health has a negative affect on an individual’s ability to grow, learn, and enjoy life to the fullest. The Oral Health Program of the Rhode Island Department of Health, working with community leaders, the legislature, and the private, the public, and the not-for-profit sectors, has a mission to improve the oral health of all Rhode Islanders. Thank you for joining our collective efforts to promote oral health and prevent oral disease in Rhode Island. A healthy smile can last a lifetime.
