The Rhode Island Osteoporosis Program

The Rhode Island Osteoporosis Program was created by the General Assembly in 1997, and is located at the Department of Health. 

The Osteoporosis Program aims to promote:

  • Awareness of osteoporosis among all Rhode Islanders
  • A diet high in calcium and vitamin D
  • Daily physical activity 
  • Good medical care for people at high risk of osteoporosis and for people with osteoporosis
