Diabetes Prevention and Control Program

Pre-diabetes (Impaired Glucose Tolerance)

The Diabetes Prevention Program (national study) showed that diet and exercise can effectively delay diabetes in a diverse American population of overweight people with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) or impaired fasting glucose (IFG).  IGT and/or IFG are conditions where blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not yet at a diabetic level.
