Diabetes Prevention

Diabetes is a complex disease affecting both children and adults.  There is no current cure for diabetes.  However, type 2 diabetes can be prevented according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  In 2002, the CDC published several statements regarding the prevention of diabetes through a major study called the Diabetes Prevention Program.

The study concluded that it is possible to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes in adults who are at risk for this disease through lifestyle changes in diet, exercise and weight loss.
