RI Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

a joint program of family health, environmental health and the health laboratories

The Rhode Island Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (RI CLPPP) is working to ensure that all children in Rhode Island can grow up in a lead safe environment.

Lead is:

  • a metal found in older paint and other places in the home and community
  • a poison when it gets into the body
  • harmful to people, especially children and pregnant women

RI CLPPP coordinates statewide efforts to reduce lead poisoning in Rhode Island’s children. We hope this site will help parents, property owners, legislators, health care providers, and the general public learn how you can help to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in Rhode Island.
